MERANO WEEKEND TOUR 2027
Following another fantastic weekend in 2026, we’re heading back to Merano for the final weekend of September 2027. Join us for four nights in beautiful South Tyrol, with two days of superb racing, local food and wine, amazing mountain views and time to enjoy the town.
We’ll fly to Verona on Thursday before enjoying the beautiful journey through the Alps to Merano. Choose Hotel Flora, where we stayed in 2026, or the 4* Hotel Adria. For those looking for a real 5* experience, Adria’s sister hotel, Hotel Mignon Park & Spa, offers beautiful gardens and superb spa facilities.
Friday is yours to enjoy at leisure, whether you fancy exploring Merano, taking the cable car into the mountains or joining our optional winelands tour.
On Saturday morning, we’ll enjoy a course walk at Merano Racecourse before the afternoon’s racing. The views across the track and into the surrounding mountains are amazing, and seeing the fences up close makes you appreciate just how special this place is. Our 2026 course walk was a real highlight, with trainer Oliver Greenall joining us to share his insight.
We return on Sunday for the highlight of the weekend, the Gran Premio Merano. Our group were there in 2026 to watch Jour Polaire win under Joel Phelippe for trainer Mickaël Seror, denying Speed Emile a third successive victory. With the Alps providing a spectacular backdrop, it’s a fantastic setting for two days of racing.
Away from the racing, Merano’s mix of Italian and Austrian influences brings great food, local wines and welcoming restaurants. With riverside walks, shops and mountain scenery to enjoy, there’s plenty to fill your time or simply relax and take it all in.
On Monday, we’ll head to Verona for a day exploring this beautiful, historic city before our flight home.

Thursday 23rd September
We will fly from the UK to Verona, where we’ll be met for our transfer to Merano. Enjoy the beautiful journey through the Alps before checking into your chosen hotel for our four night stay. The evening is at leisure, giving you time to settle in and enjoy one of the town’s restaurants.

DAY 2 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Friday 24th September
After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to explore Merano and its surroundings. You may wish to take a walk along the river, explore the town or take the cable car into the mountains for fantastic views. There is also the option to join a winelands tour at an additional cost. In the evening, we will come together for a hosted meal at a local restaurant ahead of the weekend’s racing.
DAY 3 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Saturday 25th September
Following breakfast, we will head to Merano Racecourse for our course walk and behind the scenes tour. Take in the amazing views across the racecourse and into the mountains while getting a closer look at the fences. We will then enjoy an afternoon of racing, including the Crystal Cup race, with access to the Italian Wine Area. Evening at leisure.
DAY 4 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Sunday 26th September
After breakfast, we will return to the racecourse for the highlight of the weekend, Gran Premio Merano day. Enjoy a fantastic afternoon of racing against the spectacular backdrop of the Alps. Our optional hospitality upgrade includes an exclusive area next to the parade ring, with a three course meal and drinks included. It is highly recommended and available at an additional cost. Evening at leisure following racing.
DAY 5 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Monday 27th September
After breakfast, we will check out and transfer to Verona for time at leisure to explore this beautiful, historic city. Enjoy a walk through its streets and piazzas, see the famous Roman Arena or find somewhere for lunch. Later, we will transfer to the airport for our return flight home.
