Following another fantastic weekend in 2026, we’re heading back to Merano for the final weekend of September 2027. This exclusive package for Cheltenham Club members includes four nights at the elegant 4* Hotel Adria, two days of superb racing, amazing mountain views and time to enjoy beautiful South Tyrol.
We will fly to Verona on Thursday before enjoying the beautiful journey through the Alps to Merano. After checking into Hotel Adria, the evening is at leisure to settle in and explore. Friday is yours to enjoy at your own pace, with an optional winelands tour available, before we come together for a hosted meal at a local restaurant.
On Saturday morning, we’ll enjoy our course walk and behind the scenes tour at Merano Racecourse. The views across the track and into the mountains are amazing, and seeing the fences up close makes you appreciate just how special this place is. Our 2026 course walk was a real highlight, with trainer Oliver Greenall joining us to share his insight.
Two days of racing build towards Sunday’s Gran Premio Merano, where our group watched Jour Polaire win in 2026 under Joel Phelippe for trainer Mickaël Seror, denying Speed Emile a third successive victory. Exclusive hospitality next to the parade ring is available as an optional upgrade, including a three course meal with drinks included. It was a highlight of our 2026 trip and is highly recommended.
Away from the racing, there’s plenty to enjoy in Merano, from its riverside walks and mountain scenery to welcoming restaurants and local wines. On Monday, we will head to Verona for time to explore this beautiful, historic city before transferring to the airport for our return flight home.

Thursday 23rd September
We will fly from London Stansted to Verona, where we’ll be met for our transfer to Merano. Enjoy the beautiful journey through the Alps before checking into the 4* Hotel Adria for our four night stay. The evening is at leisure, giving you time to settle in and enjoy one of the town’s restaurants.

DAY 2 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Friday 24th September
After breakfast, enjoy a day at leisure to explore Merano and its surroundings. You may wish to take a walk along the river, explore the town or take the cable car into the mountains for fantastic views. There is also the option to join a winelands tour at an additional cost. In the evening, we will come together for a hosted meal at a local restaurant ahead of the weekend’s racing.
DAY 3 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Saturday 25th September
Following breakfast, we will head to Merano Racecourse for our course walk and behind the scenes tour. Take in the amazing views across the racecourse and into the mountains while getting a closer look at the fences. We will then enjoy an afternoon of racing, including the Crystal Cup race, with access to the Italian Wine Area. Evening at leisure.
DAY 4 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Sunday 26th September
After breakfast, we will return to the racecourse for the highlight of the weekend, Gran Premio Merano day. Enjoy a fantastic afternoon of racing against the spectacular backdrop of the Alps. Our optional hospitality upgrade includes an exclusive area next to the parade ring, with a three course meal and drinks included. It is highly recommended and available at an additional cost. Evening at leisure following racing.
DAY 5 - CLICK TO SEE MORE
Monday 27th September
After breakfast, we will check out and transfer to Verona for time at leisure to explore this beautiful, historic city. Enjoy a walk through its streets and piazzas, see the famous Roman Arena or find somewhere for lunch. Later, we will transfer to the airport for our return flight home.
